ALGEBRA AND CALCULUS: APPLICATIONS IN ECONOMICS AND BUSINESSThe course is part of the general education knowledge block of the bachelor’s degree program in Economics and Business Administration. This course provides basic knowledge of linear algebra and calculus about the functions of one variable and functions of several variables.
The course also aims to train thinking ability, and calculation skills and improve the ability to apply mathematical knowledge to analyze and study problems in economics and business.
The course equips students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to study related courses in the training program, and to continue to higher education.
The course consists of two main parts: Linear Algebra and Calculus. The first part provides some basic concepts of Linear Algebra such as matrices, determinants, and systems of linear equations. Topics covered include matrix algebra, determinants, systems of linear equations, linear models, and their applications. The second part of this course provides the basic content of calculus and its applications in economics and business. It focuses on differentiation, integration for single variable functions, and differentiation for multivariable functions. The course is applied-oriented. Students will learn how to use mathematics to solve economics and business problems.
